Economic Development is the engine for any city. It is a fact that cities with more resources are better equipped to provide for their communities. Economic development increases tax revenues, available jobs, and opportunities for our residents. The goal is to work on a well-developed economic program which will increase the overall wealth in Lauderdale Lakes and benefit those living within our community.

We MUST be diligent at bolstering our Code Enforcement. We must have a proactive plan to address vacant property, inoperable vehicles, trash, tall grass (weeds), and aging properties that become “eyesores” within the city. I will work to ensure that our code compliance department is fully staffed and well trained to serve as mediators, problem solvers, communicators, researchers, and standard bearers of our city. They are our first line of defense. I will work to develop and implement a “Did You Know” series aimed at educating our community about the ordinances, code requirements and standards. The goal is to be solution focused.

We MUST develop programs and services that will meet the needs of all our most vulnerable residents, our youth and seniors. I will work to ensure that resources are made available through grants and other funding for our recreation and parks program as well as our elderly services. Engaging and working with community partners to enhance and develop new program services that will build a vibrant community within a community. I will implement an “At Your Service” program that serves as a concierge in our community. We simply must bring government to our vulnerable populations instead of waiting on them to come to us.
